Confirm your email

After you sign up, tatbook sends you an email with a button in it. Press Confirm my email in that email, then press Confirm on the page that opens. The button works for 10 minutes. You do not need to type a code anywhere. You can open the email on a different device than the one you signed up on. Then go back to the screen where you signed up. It continues on its own.

Setup is one screen

Once you are verified, you land on Setup. It asks a handful of questions and creates your whole shop in one step.

  • Who this is for. Just me sets you up on the Solo plan, where Stripe supports card deposits in your country. My shop sets you up on the Shop plan with a trial.
  • Your name and the business name that becomes your page address.
  • On the Shop plan, whether you personally tattoo, so tatbook knows whether to give you an artist profile too. Tick I tattoo too if you do.

tatbook picks up your timezone from your browser. You can change it later in General settings.

If you chose Just me, tatbook makes you an artist automatically, so you are ready to take bookings as soon as you add a service and your hours.

Your 14 day trial

Choosing My shop starts a 14 day trial on the Shop plan. No card is required to start. tatbook checks in with you around day 10. When the trial ends, new bookings pause until you pick what happens next: subscribe, switch to the Solo plan where it is available, export your data, or take 7 more days, once. Nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe.

The Solo plan has no trial. There is no monthly charge on Solo. A booking fee applies to payments you take through tatbook.

What it takes to publish

Your page cannot go live until two things are true: you have at least one artist, and clients have a way to reach you, either an active service they can book instantly or requests turned on with at least one artist taking requests. Your hours and availability never block publishing, so a shop can go live before its schedule is fully set. Your booking page opens to clients once times are set. On the Shop plan, that means your shop hours, at least one artist's times, and an active service.

Until you publish, visitors to your page see an "opening soon" message with your business name instead of an error.

Where to go next

From Home, the fastest path to a live page is usually: add a service or turn on requests, invite any artists you work with, connect Stripe so you can take deposits, and then publish. Each of those has its own guide.
